USA1924 Yellow Coach Z-L-210 (TMER&L Milwaukee 410-417 series)

ref212.gif (6845 bytes)Nearly 1,200 Z-29 chassis were built by Yellow Coach between 1923 and 1930 and almost all of them were produced with standard Yellow Coach city service bodies. Six cylinder version of the Knight sleeve-valve engine was installed but 4-cylinder option was also available until 1926. Z-L-210 chassis were the most popular with 645 units produced between 1923 and 1925. Despite the high cost (approx. $8000), these buses were very popular and the electric and steam railways were the main customers. In 1924 ten Yellows with 29-seat bodies were delivered to TMER&L for use on city lines; two of them received old bodies from Packard buses in 1925. More Z-29s were delivered in the following years, include five buses in 1925 for deluxe "Green service”.
