1946 the Ohio Brass Company erected wiring for the first trolleybus route
in Ankara between Yildirim Beyazit Square and the administrative area
of Bakanliklar. For open of this route, ten ACF-Brill TC-44 trolleybuses
were ordered in the United States and they were outshopped in November
1945. The trolleybuses were delivered in the red and white livery with
silver beltrail and the success of this route led to extension of the
system. However all further trolleybuses for Ankara system were imported
from Germany and Italy. The original Brills were in service in Ankara
until mid-70s, the whole system was converted to buses in 1986.
