Belgrade Tatra T4YU PCC Demonstrators (110-111 series)
In
1967 Tatra introduced a narrower version of popular
T3 model, called T4 with width 2.2 m instead of 2.5 m. Two demonstrators
were sent in the same year to Belgrade, numbered 110 and 111. In 1968
both cars were returned to Tatra and in 1972 Belgrade placed an order
for 20 serial T4 models. Car #111 was rebuilt as a trailer car prototype
for East Germany, became Halle #101. Car #110 was rebuilt as Tour tram
for Prague fleet (#5500). Between 1967 and 1987 2.635 T4s and 874 B4s
were built; mainly for East Germany and also for Soviet Union, Romania
and Yugoslavia.
