N.E.T. Nagasaki Niigata Iron Works ex-Sendai Tram (1051-1055 series)
The electric tram network
in Nagasaki was inaugurated in 1915. In 1976 Nagasaki Electric Tramways
acquired five trams from Sendai (Eastern Honshu island) system - they
were built in 1952 by Niigata Iron Works. These cars were converted to
standard Nagasaki gauge using bogies from scrapped interurban trams. This
batch was numbered 1051-1055 and it was withdrawn in early 90s. Tram #1054
was preserved in Sydney Tramway Museum in Australia.
