Tokyo Fuji/Hino Trolleybus ( 200-206 series )
The trolleybus system in Tokyo was
inaugurated in November 1952. Between 1952 and 1968 there were 4 routes
here, numbered 101-104, with overall length of 51.4 km. Last of them (No.101)
was converted to bus operation in September 1968. Bodies for all of the
Tokyo trolleybuses were built by Fuji company on Hino chassis. Trolleybuses
of 201-206 series were delivered to Tokyo in Autumn 1954. They were very
similar to initial 20 vehicles of 50-series, delivered in 1952 to system
opening, but they had a standee windows (the 50s were later rebuilt also
to this body style). The 200s were withdrawn in 1968 when whole system

In 1960 trolleybuses of 600 and 700-series were added to the roster and
also old coaches of 100/200/300- series were rebodied in the 60s, however
the 500-series was never rebodied. The Kawasaki system was closed at 1st
May 1967 and the most modern trolleybuses of 700-series were sold to Yokohama.
