Mercedes Benz O325 (Moscow)
The
branch of Mercedes-Benz AG in Turkey was opened in 1967 and from 1988
more than 600 buses were delivered to Soviet Union; the most popular is
“O325” city-bus; Moscow was one of the main customers of these buses in
1990s.

1942 Bedford OWB Utility Bus (By Duple)
In
October 1941 the British Government authorized Bedford to produce limited
numbers of buses for civilian use and the first prototype, classified
the OWB was built later in 1941. This model was based on pre-war OB chassis
with one standard of 32-seat bodywork designed by Duple. 3,398 OWB buses
were built between 1942 and 1945 under control of Ministry of Supply and
Ministry of War Transport, the majority of they had Duple bodies.

1951 Bristol LWL6B (ECW "Queen Mary" C35F body)
The
L, first post-war Bristol single-deck chassis was introduced in 1946.
The famous more modern ECW “Queen Mary” C35F body with full fronted cab
was introduced on Bristol chassis in 1950 when 30ft maximum length vehicles
was permitted. These attractive coaches offered comfortable accommodation
for long distance express work. After withdrawn in 60s many of them were
sold to Cyprus, Malta etc.

1952 Leyland Royal Tiger PSU 1/15 (Leyland C41C body)
Leyland
introduced a range of underfloor-engined chassis in April 1950 under the
“Royal Tiger” name and later this year, at the Commercial Motor Show new
Leyland luxury single-deck coach was introduced. This 41-seat comfortable
body had a very attractive front styling with raked windscreen. Ribble
with 145 buses was a main customer of this coaches. A Hylton&Dawson
RPG807 bus was new in 1952 when was delivered to Hunt, Ottershaw. It was
passed to Hylton&Dawson in 1957 and in 1966 was sold to Irish operator.
The Royal Tiger PSU1/15 coach chassis fitted with Leyland 600 engine was
under production between 1950 and 1955. In December 1954 Leyland ceased
manufacture of passenger vehicles bodywork; last coach body was built
in 1953.

1953 Scania-Vabis C50 Metropol
(Stockholm SS H19 Class)
In
1949 some Scania’s engineers went to USA to study the new American transit
buses. Later one Mack C50 bus was delivered to Stockholm and results of
the tests were very successful. The agreement between Scania-Vabis and
Mack Company to grant the right to built Mack C50 buses for sale in Sweden
and worldwide exclude USA was concluded on 10th April 1949 and on 31st
May 1951 Stockholm Tramways placed a large order of 200 complete buses.
90 buses were delivered in 1953 and 110 in 1954. These very modern buses
were very popular in Stockholm.

1957
Renault R4231 Autobus (Versailles)
The
modern Renault R4190 bus with underfloor engine was announced in October
1949 in Paris. In September 1950 the two-man city bus, called R4230 was
announced. Two years later, a 120 h.p. motor was introduced and modified
bus model was called R4231. 129 such buses were produced until 1957. Versaille
was one of the latest customers of R4231 - 26 buses were acquired in 1957
to replace the famous city's blue and grey trams.

Renault R4231 Autobus (Belgrade)
In
early 50s Belgrade want to buy the most modern vehicles to re-equip its
city lines (PCCs from Belgium etc.) In September 1952 Renault supplied
a few R4231 buses to Belgrade as a possible standard equipment for Yugoslavian
capital, but no further orders were placed.

Renault R4231 Autobus (EMT Madrid)
Madrid
EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transportes) ordered 26 R4231 buses from Renault
in 1952 in addition to 24 one-man R4210s delivered in 1951. The French
buses made only small part of the bus fleet (677 in 1955), consisted mainly
of british Leylands and Guys and locally-built Pegaso Z-404s. Some of
the Renault buses were transformed to trolleybuses in 1957.

1955/56 Scania-Vabis C70/1
Capitol(SS Stockholm H22 Class).
In
September 1954 Stockholm Tramways ordered more 181 rear-engined buses
from Scania-Vabis. These buses, classified C70/1 Capitol (H22 class),
were built between 1955 and 1956. The first Capitol was based on Mack
C40 bus and was more compact than C50 Metropol model. All Capitol buses
of H22 class were withdrawn in 1967.
