Carpenter Crown Classic School Bus
The Ralph H.Carpenter Body Co. built
its first horsedrawn school wagon in 1919. This company is known today
as Carpenter Industries Inc., produce a large range of school buses. The
conventional Crown Classic model is one of the most popular school buses.
Carpenter acquired Crown Commercial Buses in 1991 and for sales these
have been designated as “Crown by Carpenter”. Also in 1994 Carpenter acquired
the Wayne, one of the famous school bus builders in the U.S.A. All Carpenter
operations now moved to 533.000-squire foot ex-Wayne plant in Richmond,
Indiana.
