ref.209In 1946 AEC introduced new left-hand drive Regal Mark III model 0963 chassis and soon many orders were placed not only from South America, a major export market but also from Norway and Finland. Tampere City Transport bought it's first batch of twelve AEC Regal III buses in 1949.In 1957 Tampere had fleet of 38 Regals, over half of they were bodied by local firm Valmet. Last Regals were withdrawn in 1974.

ref209aHelsinki ordered five AEC Regal III buses with Valmet DB body in 1949. They were similar to Tampere model but there were some differences include a ventilator on the roof and different seating arrangement. This batch of the buses, numbered 34-38 was used on the route No. 18N until 1961; later these buses were bought by one of the independent bus companies in Helsinki and they were in service until 1963-64; after that its frames were used for building semi-trailers for trucks.
