USA1936/37 Brooklyn & Queens Transit Corp. St.Louis Car Co. PCC (Job 1600; 1001-1099 series) - original livery.

In June 1935 Brooklyn & Queens Transit Corporation awarded two PCC construction contracts. Clark Equipment Co. built Brooklyn PCC 1000 and St.Louis Car Co. received order for 99 PCC cars (Job 1600), which were delivered between August 1936 and January 1937. Most of their life was spent on routes 68 Smith-Coney Island, 69 McDonald-Vanderbuilt and 67S Seventh Ave., all of which received the new cars between October 1, 1936 and January 20, 1937. For new streamliners, Brooklyn selected an all-new livery, using the DuPpont Cordova Gray (a very warm gray) unborken except for a Mountain Laurel Scarlet red beltrail and dark blue-green
moldings. The "next car" light was installed above the headlight to tell the prospective passengers that the car was full.

USA1936/37 New York City Transit System St.Louis Car Co. PCC (Job 1600; 1001-1099 series) - 1950s livery.

During 1950s, the Brooklyn PCC cars saw additional modifications. In addition to front and rear skirting, modified in 1940s, a short original front and rear anticlimbers were replaced by readily available full-width castings and wings around the headlight were omitted. The trolley pole shroud color was changed from silver to green and windshield wiper cowl was painted silver instead of green. Most of the 100 car fleet of PCC soldiered on until their 20th birthday in October 1956, but on October 31, 1956 the last cars were operated on Church and McDonald Avenues, thus ending over the 60 years of streetcar service. Car 1001 was preserved at the Shoreline Trolley Museum in Brandford, Connecticut.
