USA1950/52 GM TDH-5103 (South Suburban Safeway Lines 501-516 series).

South Suburban Safeway Lines company served number of the suburban routes south of Chicago; it was formed in 1933 when South Suburban Motor Coach and subsidiaries consolidated into South Suburban Safeway Lines. In August 1950 South Suburban bought its first six GM TDH-5103 coaches and acquired ten more in September 1952; they lasted in the company's roster until 1972.

USA1953/57 GM TDH-5105 (South Suburban Safeway Lines 517-538 series).

First air-suspension TDH-5105 were acquired in in June 1953 (coaches 517-531); seven more coaches were bought in later years, last two (537-538) were delivered in December 1957. In 1961-64 South Suburban Safeway Lines bought 28 TDH-5105 buses from Denver Tramway, The TDH-5105s were withdrawn from service in 1972-74 and Chicago's RTA acquired all South Suburban Safeway Lines routes in 1983.
