GM TDH-5106 (Manhattan & Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority
2645-2694 series).
The
Manhattan & Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority or MABSTOA was
formed in 1962 as a subsidary of the New York Transit Authority. MABSTOA
included all the routes ones operated by Fifth Avenue Coach, New York
Omnibus and Surface Transit. Former Fifth Avenue TDH-5106 coaches retained
their numbers in the MABSTOA era, while former Surface Transit 3020-3059
series were renumbered in 3100-series and later renumbered again into
3200s. They were assigned to depots in Manhattan and Bronx and were retired
in early 1970s.
